USF Student Support

Do you need technical support?

The University of South Florida (USF) offers several avenues for students to obtain technology support. Some key sources for student technology support are listed below. Add this page to your favorites and check back anytime you need help.

USF Technology Help Desk

USF provides students with a Technology Help Desk that can be accessed via phone (1-866-974-1222: toll-free in Florida), chat, or email. You can also walk in with your questions. The Help Desk is located on the first floor of the USF Tampa Campus Library in the Information Commons (LIB117). You might find answers to your questions in the Help Desk's Knowledge Base. For more information about the USF Technology Help Desk including Hours of Operation, visit: http://it.usf.edu/help

myUSF / Blackboard

myUSF is the University Academic Portal and distance/online/blended course delivery system. The myUSF portal runs on the Blackboard Learning System and enables USF instructors to build and manage courses online, engage with students in an interactive way, and communicate with students efficiently. The myUSF portal also presents students with other important academic information and links to related resources such as the USF Library, the Content Collection, etc.

In order to access the myUSF portal, you will need to have your USF netID and related password. If you need help getting started with myUSF, visit the IT myUSF Support Page.

Elluminate Helpline

Some faculty at USF use a Synchronous Virtual Classroom software application called Elluminate Live! to conduct live classes online. If your instructor uses this software and you need help using it, contact the USF Help Desk first (see above) and if they are unable to assist you, call the Elluminate Helpline toll-free at: 866-388-8674, option #2. Also visit the Elluminate Support Page to prepare your system for Elluminate use and the Elluminate Self Help Portal for answers to some of your questions. If you are still not able to resolve your Elluminate issue, send an email to your instructor who should then contact the Elluminate Admin Team at USF (elluminate@lists.acomp.usf.edu).
