How to Apply
** Deadline to apply for Spring 2012 is February 15, 2012 **
Eligibility Requirements
- Students have experienced a cumulative gap in their education of five or more years
- Students are at the undergraduate level and pursuing their first baccalaureate degree
- Students demonstrate financial need
- Students show academic promise and a commitment to obtaining their degree
- Students anticipate participation in the workforce for a significant period of time subsequent to graduation and are ideally between the ages of 25-50
- Students must be currently enrolled at USF for the term in which they are receiving the scholarship
Application Process
To apply for the Osher Reentry Scholarship, please submit the following:
- A copy of your current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) - priority deadline is March 1st
- Osher Reentry Scholarship Application
- Personal Goal Statement, including the following information:
- Reasons you are returning to college
- Scholarly, vocational accomplishments, honors, special awards, or recognition you have received
- Challenges, facing you as a non-traditional student
- Goals you intent to accomplish at the University and after you graduate
Awards
Osher Scholarships can be awarded for Fall or Spring terms only, or for both Fall and Spring terms. The award is based upon the student's credits remaining till graduation, as well as the number of credit hours they are taking each term. Currently scholarships do not cover summer enrollment.
Recipients must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and complete 75% of their attempted coursework in order to be eligible to reapply the following academic year. Each recipient is required to reapply each academic year to continue to be considered for the scholarship.
