Praxis I - Pre-Professional Skills Tests and Praxis II- Subject Assessments
Description:
Colleges and Universities may use Praxis I: Pre- Professional Skills Assessments to evaluate individuals for entry into teacher education programs. The assessments are generally taken early in your college career. In many states individuals entering the teaching profession are required to take the Praxis II: Subject Assessments as part of the teacher licensing and certification process. Some professional associations and organizations may also require Praxis II tests as a criterion for professional licensing decisions.
Format and Delivery:
Praxis I and some Praxis II tests are offered in both paper and pencil and computer based format (not all Praxis II tests are offered in both formats). For Praxis I, examinees are allotted four and a half hours for the combined test of the computer based exam, two hours for the individual test of the computer based exam, and three hours for the paper based exam. For Praxis II, examinees are allotted three hours for the Elementary Education tests of the internet based exam, three and a half hours for the World Languages tests of the internet based exam, and one or two hours according to the test for the paper based exam.

Registration Process:
Self-serve online registration is available for ALL Praxis Tests. Examinees should visit the Praxis website: www.ets.org/praxis. Examinees will be able to schedule, reschedule, cancel, and confirm appointments online.
Test and Fees:
Praxis I tests may be administered separately or as a combine test. The fee for one test is $80, two tests $120, three tests $160, and the combined test is $130. Praxis II is administered separately. The fee for the Elementary Education tests is $110 and $140 for the World Language Tests. Please see the following for the schedule of fees and for more information: www.ets.org/praxis.
Retest Policies:
You may take the Computerized PPST only once every 30 consecutive days. This applies even if you canceled your scores on a test taken previously.
Testing Schedule:
Please visit www.gre.org/praxis or call 813-974-7501 to check availability of specific days and times. Seating for this exam is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis. During periods of increased demand, your first-choice of testing date and time may not be available. Examinees should register as early as possible to avoid potential scheduling conflicts.
